Who would have thought southwestern placemats could be used for party decor? I recently planned a big birthday bash for a very special friend. I wanted it to be unique and exciting everywhere the guests were mingling. This spicy southwestern theme was so fun to create and accomplish. The colors of the southwest are so rich and beautiful, so I didn’t have any problem with the party not being colorful.
For my entrance, I had chili pepper lights that were intertwined in willow twigs hanging around the door frame. I was going for that southwestern rustic look and it looked perfect. On each side of the door way, I had 2 dark brown pottery pots with a variety of flowers mixed with peacock feathers to add height for each arrangement. My table centerpieces were absolutely exquisite with my southwestern chili placemats.
For the base of my centerpiece, I used these wonderful black and red southwestern chili placemats. I placed a chili pepper shaped chip and dip platter on top. I was able to find some red chili pepper confetti, which I sprinkled all around my table. Each guest was able to sit at the tables and munch on chips & dip until the main course was ready. The beautiful southwestern placemats were a perfect foundation for my table’s centerpieces. Now that I have plenty I can always reuse them in my own southwestern home for many festivities to come.
