What an exciting time my husband and I have had changing the decor of our guest room to match the interest of our fourteen year old grandson, Rusty. He will be visiting us for the summer here at our home in Texas and loves anything that has to do with the west, cowboys and Indians. Grandpa and I started our guest room remodel a few months ago and are very pleased with the results.
This week we are choosing the lighting for the room. For the overhead ceiling light, we purchased an awesome antler chandelier. With the bedroom’s high ceilings, we chose a hanging chandelier with white tail deer antler sheds. The lampshades are hand made of leather. It will be great as it has six candelabra lights as well as a down light that will illuminate the room. We will connect a dimmer switch to control the lighting to give the room a warm cozy welcoming feeling.
For each nightstand, we chose small antler table lamps. The size is perfect to sit beneath the wall’s decor…a lasso and a bull whip. They too are made from discarded white tail deer antler sheds and are adorned with matching handmade leather shades. We are extremely happy with our lighting choices and think Rusty will love the southwestern look we are creating.
