My getaway cabin has really been a lot of fun to decorate in a rustic, southwestern theme. I decided to go in a Native American style decor for the guest bathroom. When I came across Native American hand painted gourd rattles, I knew they would be perfect to display around the room. They are decorated with leather, feathers, and beads with a hand painted symbol or native style image on the gourd.
On the back of the toilet I placed a beautiful hand woven place mat down first and set one of my rattles there. I also chose two other rattles that had animals painted which were secured over each corner of the mirror. There are some other odds and ends that I have found to combine with my Native American rattles.
My neice, Sarah, has recently given me a present for the new cabin. She made knob decorations for the bathroom. Basically, it is thin wire twisted to make a loop and a longer piece that dangles with beads and two small feathers. I am so excited to hang these around our cabinet knobs in the cabin. They will go perfect with our Native American painted gourd rattles.
