A Southwestern Saint Patrick’s Day Door Wreath

St. Patrick’s Day will be here before you know it. Sometimes I get so busy and behind with daily work and chores, I forget to have my door decorated for the various holidays or seasons. I love to bring the southwest into any of my crafts or projects, no matter the season or holiday. Southwestern Zapotec table runners are perfect for me to decorate my basic door wreath. With the many colors and designs, I have a wide variety of choices to choose from.

Hand woven southwest Zapotec runners are my favorite because they are each one-of-a-kind. I may choose similar colors, but the styles or designs will be different than any other runners I may have. This year I chose a beautiful bright grass green color runner to wrap around my door wreath. I have found the size 10×80 works perfect for my 24″ door wreath.  After wrapping the wreath for my foundation, depending on the season or holiday, I then add various items on top for a unique flair.

For my St. Patrick’s southwestern door wreath this year, I have chosen to add a small size plastic black pot or kettle in the center with some fake gold coins glued around like it is over flowing. Hopefully, I will be able to keep the little leprechaun from taking the “gold coins” off my southwestern door wreath. It is amazing how you can use a simple southwestern Zapotec table runner for more than just your table or furniture.
